Project Description:

Northern Children’s Services engaged TN Ward to renovate and expand this historic 1840’s building in order to provide 15,000 SF of upgraded residential, counseling and training space for homeless teenage mothers & children. The project included a 1,400 SF addition with new stair tower and elevator and a 2,000 SF infill addition with four new two-bedroom apartments. The existing interior space was repurposed to provide eight new dormitory rooms. Project challenges included the removal of massive stone support walls to install a new stair tower and select abatement & demolition for design documentation.
