Our safety program has been designed to provide our field personnel with the means and methods to provide a safe working environment on all projects and establish a culture that holds all employees responsible for the safety of all workers on our sites.

T.N. Ward Company is committed to providing the highest quality of education, training, and equipment. By making employees, subcontractors, and vendors, aware of potential hazards via pre-planning, hazard analysis, and ongoing hazard assessment, we improve the total performance of our company. Our program is designed to empower each and every one of our employees and to assign them an active role in sustaining and improving our program.  We know that a safe work environment is essential to a successful project.

For two years running, T.N. Ward Company has won the coveted GBCA Excellence Safety Award in 2008 and 2009.  T.N. Ward’s motto of “Safety 24/7” encompasses a variety of training and educational programs including OSHA training and tracking and trending accidents, injuries and near misses.  The company’s Guardrail Disruption Permit System leads the industry in guardrail and perimeter netting safety systems and procedures.  In addition, all supervisory personnel maintain current certifications in First Aid/CPR/AED, receive training in handling blood pathogens, and receive Consumer Product Safety Commission Bulletins at their homes in order to ensure that safety remains a priority both at work and at home.

 In our continuing efforts to improve communication and information exchange among regional safety professionals, our Safety Department is heavily involved with the following groups:

• Mid-Atlantic Construction Safety Council (MACSC) – Member since 1999
• General Building Contractor’s Association (GBCA) – Safety Committee Member since 2005
• New Jersey BuildSafe – Member since inception in 2007
